Drs Vincenzo Di Nicola, President, WASP and Dr Rakesh K Chadda, President Elect, WASP attended the American Psychiatric Association Meeting at Los Angeles on 17th-21st May 2025. WASP sponsored symposium “International Social Psychiatric Perspectives on Drug Abuse, Social Media Effects, and Family Interventions” included presentations by Vincenzo Di Nicola, Rakesh K Chadda and Rama Rao Gogineni and was moderated by Farooq Mohyuddin. The symposium was well attended and was followed by a long discussion. Rakesh Chadda also participated in another symposium “African and Asian Traditional Healing Practices: Relevance to Contemporary Total Health”, which was proposed by Late Eliot Sorel, Past President, WASP and included speakers from China ( Yuekin Huang), Africa (Jean Bosco Niyonzima), USA (Patrcia Garbarg and Richard Brown) and Rakesh Chadda (India). The symposium was well attended and attracted wide discussion.
